Revolutionizing Detergent Design: Souldrops

Blending Hungarian Heritage with International Trends

When one thinks of laundry detergents, a universal image comes to mind. Souldrops aims to revolutionize this image. The creators have reimagined a bottle shape typical in Hungarian culture, painted it in pastel colors, and made it trendy. The result is a uniquely designed detergent brand for the general market that challenges existing norms.

The design process prioritized comprehensibility, transparency, and clarity. Helvetica font was chosen for its optimal readability. To maintain the clarity of the products, the bottles were labeled with screen printing, an unusual choice in this category, instead of using vinyl stickers. The bottles were given a matte finish and mellow pastel colors to accentuate softness.

Souldrops is available in different sizes: 1.3l and 3.2l for liquid detergents, and 1l and 2l for fabric softeners. The minimalist, colorful packaging design has made Souldrops a popular choice among consumers, many of whom reuse the bottles as different design elements in their homes.

The project, which began in spring 2016, was introduced to the market in February 2017. It was a creative challenge to shake up an industry where the same, dull, and monotonous designs and approaches have dominated for decades. However, this small, newborn Hungarian startup is now challenging the multinational players of the sector.

Souldrops' innovative design has not gone unnoticed. It was awarded the Golden A' Packaging Design Award in 2018, a prestigious accolade granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
